Principles & Community Action Guide

A practical guide to awakened thinking, nonviolence, character and independent community action.

Read Our Books

Our five principles

Nonviolence: Resolve disagreements without threats, intimidation or harm.

Mental development: Keep learning, think critically and examine assumptions.

Character: Practice integrity, responsibility, discipline and accountability.

Unity: Recognize shared humanity while respecting differences.

Community advancement: Put useful knowledge into constructive, lawful action.

The three-part practice

Awaken: Read, listen, reflect and choose one principle to study.

Live: Demonstrate that principle in one real interaction today.

Carry: Share what you learned and undertake one independent act of service.

Your first seven days

  1. Write down what nonviolence means in your daily life.
  2. Listen fully to someone whose perspective differs from yours.
  3. Resolve one small disagreement respectfully.
  4. Read about a practical skill that could improve your future.
  5. Encourage someone with specific, sincere words.
  6. Share a useful resource or opportunity without expecting a reward.
  7. Reflect: what changed, what was difficult and what will you repeat?

Ideas for independent community action

Offer age-appropriate mentorship through safe, established channels; help someone find credible training resources; support a neighborhood clean-up; share job leads; start respectful conversations about conflict resolution; or volunteer with an established local organization.

Choose activities suited to your skills and circumstances. Follow applicable laws, respect boundaries and seek qualified help for situations involving danger or crisis.

A reflection to repeat

What did I learn? How did I demonstrate restraint? Whom did I encourage? What can I build tomorrow?

Our promise: We are not enemies. We are brothers. Nonviolence is a standard, not a tactic.
